Topic: Cardiovascular system in health and disease

The themes covered:
1) The vascular wall;
2) Vascular resistance control in vivo;
3) Transvascular fluid exchange;
4) Functional genomics in cardiovascular research;
5) Cardiac contraction and excitation, the failing heart;
6) Cardiac surgery and heart and lung transplantation.

The theoretical part took place from May 27th - June 8th, 2001 at the University of Lund.

The lab courses took place at the Universities of Copenhagen, Kiel and Lund from June 9th - 16th, 2001.
